Alternative drives in the HCV segment: acceptance and willingness to pay
Need
We wanted to find out how high the acceptance and willingness to pay for e-drives really is in various HCV segments (heavy commercial vehicles) for a well-known engine manufacturer. For this purpose, we interviewed test persons in four European core markets.
Solution
Using ConJoint analysis, we determined the willingness to pay for the benefits of e-drives depending on their performance. This involved a total of six vehicle segments - including regular service buses, distribution transport and waste disposal vehicles. In order to obtain a high degree of detail, the survey was designed as a CAPI survey.
Benefits
The market simulation for the different HCV segments enabled a clear prioritisation with regard to engine design and market-side processing. The part-benefit values determined for the individual performance and equipment features served as the basis for the various engine configuration scenarios.
